Product Description:

Give beginning readers a boost with this whimsical, easy-to-read play based on the classic fairy tale! Features rhyme, repetition, and predictable language to help children build vocabulary and become confident, fluent readers. Includes three great reproducibles:
• a read-aloud checklist
• a story map (characters, setting(s), problem, solution)
• a story scroll (beginning, middle, end)

Grades K - 2

Identify Story Elements After reading the play, review it with children, and define and identify the characters, plot, setting(s), and problems and solutions. Provide scaffolding prompts such as: “I’m thinking of the setting where Cinderella dropped her slipper” that provide less scaffolding such as: • Who is the play about? • Where does the play take place? • What were the characters doing? • What happened? Provide children with copies of the Story Map graphic organizer (page 11) and let them explore story elements further through words and pictures.
