Teaching Tip

Math entries can be as simple as recording an estimate before discovering the answer, or as complex as writing an explanation of a math concept or skill. You may suggest that children write or draw in their journals every day, once a week, or as each new concept or skill is learned—it’s up to you. No matter how you use them, journals are a valuable tool that display children’s progress and give you insights into their thinking!
