While a research paper can appear daunting at first, some students will appreciate beginning the process by using their imagination to draw a whimsical and interesting cover about their chosen topic. The creative cover of their research paper may help keep them inspired during the subsequent research and writing!
This project can be done as individual or group work. The objectives are to develop a thesis statement or major question to be answered in the paper, to organize subject matter in a logical fashion, and to cite sources within a bibliography!
Teaching Tip:
Young Researcher—List all the books, Web sites, magazine articles, and blogs that relate to your research paper topic. How many sources did you find?
