These scoring sheets provide a handy way to deliver assessment feedback to students. They can be used for one trait, all seven traits, or any number in between. Includes 4-, 5-, and 6-point versions!
Listen closely to the talk in a writing traits classroom to understand how much more helpful it is to offer focused feedback (rather than general, nonspecific comments):“ Destiny, the way you described the rusty, old metal harness you found in your grandfather’s barn helped me to understand more about how, as he has aged, he’s had to give up favorite activities like horseback riding. When writers use thoughtful details like this, it makes the idea feel real and important to the reader.”
