There should be enough room in the box at the bottom of each page to paste the coins. However, if students choose to tally the total of each purchase using some pennies—and as a result have more coins than will fit in the box—they can paste those coins on the back of the page.

Remind students that there are different ways of combining coins to equal a given price. After students complete the activity, invite volunteers to share the combination of coins they pasted in their mini-books to equal the price of each piece of fruit.You may want to list all the different possible coin combinations for each item on a chart. (Completed pages, showing sample coin combinations, are shown on page 19.)
